Welcome to the shadows.
My Kind Of Weird exists for those of us who find beauty in darkness, who hear music in dissonance, and who seek stories that linger long after the final page turns. This is a space dedicated to exploring the uncomfortable, the transgressive, and the genuinely unsettling corners of art and sound.
We cover horror literature in all its forms – from the literary weird fiction that warps reality at its edges to the visceral extremity of splatterpunk, from classic Gothic novels to contemporary dark fantasy. Our literary explorations extend into the sequential art realm, examining horror comics and graphic novels that push boundaries both visual and narrative.
On the sonic front, we traverse the full spectrum of dark music: the suffocating atmospheres of dark ambient, the ritualistic drones of death industrial, the crushing weight of doom metal, the chaotic violence of grindcore, and everything between and beyond. If it’s heavy, haunting, or horrifying, it belongs here.
This isn’t about shock value for its own sake. It’s about understanding why certain art disturbs us, why we’re drawn to darkness, and what these extreme forms of expression reveal about the human condition. My Kind Of Weird is for readers and listeners who don’t flinch – who lean in closer when others turn away.

Generally, we stick to our guns with what we like to write about. However, you are welcome to try your luck. If you think your project meets the brief of what we like then please follow the below instructions.
